MA in Digital Media BA (Hons) , English Literature & Creative Studies,  Dip. in Musical Theatre

After obtaining a Diploma in Musical Theatre from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Ooi furthered her studies in England and was awarded a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Creative Arts, and an MA in Digital Media & Deisgn. As a Middle Eastern Belly Dance lover, Ooi has learned from masters like Yasmina Ramzy, Serena Ramzy, Asmahan, Tamalyn Dallel and Susan Frankovich. She has over 12 years of belly dance performing experience for different events in Belgium, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Hong Kong and the Mainland etc. She has also toured in Europe and the UK for Nusantara, a Southeast Asian dance company. Working with members from the Malaysian National Theatre and world-renowned Malay classical and ethnic choreographer Maziah Omar, she has performed Southeast Asian classical and ethnic dance at the French Cultural Festival, Festival of World Cultures in Dublin, Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Arts and for the London Mayor etc. Ada’s other ethnic dance vocabularies also include, Hawaiian, Tahitian, African and dances from the Caribbean.

Her passion in arts & culture has also led her to be the Researcher & Presenter for an RTHK documentary “Songs of the Earth” investigating the future of the song and dance amongst Chinese ethnic groups. Other artistic appearances include being Ethel in the musical 42nd Street. She is also the Character Movement artist as Ying Ying, the female leading role for Hong Kong’s first 3D animation Dragon Blade.

Ada leads ideation and artistic direction for Cody’s Moving Group dance productions and photography work.
